Connect WooCommerce<\/strong> and approve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\nExternal services<\/h3>\n\n
This plugin connects to Kauthar AI<\/strong> (https:\/\/kautharai.com), the service that provides the AI assistant. It does not work without a Kauthar AI account. Nothing is sent before you press \"Connect to Kauthar\" or submit a connection code.<\/p>\n\nWhat is sent, when, and why:<\/p>\n\n
\n- When you connect<\/strong> (button or code): the connection code, this site's address (home URL) and title, and the plugin, WordPress and WooCommerce version numbers \u2014 to link the site to your Kauthar account. Kauthar returns a site token stored in your WordPress options.<\/li>\n
- When the Kauthar AI settings page is opened or \"Refresh status\" is pressed<\/strong>: the site token and the same version numbers \u2014 to show your account, assistant and store status.<\/li>\n
- When you press \"Connect WooCommerce\"<\/strong>: the site token and the address of this settings page. WooCommerce then shows its own approval screen and, if you approve, WooCommerce itself sends a read\/write REST API key to
https:\/\/kautharai.com\/api\/wp\/v1\/woo\/keys<\/code>. Kauthar uses it to read products and order status and, only if you switch it on in Kauthar, to create orders from the chat.<\/li>\n- When a product is created, edited, deleted or its stock changes<\/strong> (WooCommerce connected only): a notice with the site token, at most once a minute, so Kauthar syncs again. No product data is sent; Kauthar reads products from your store's public Store API.<\/li>\n
- When a post or page is created, edited, trashed or deleted<\/strong>: a notice with the site token and the post ids only, at most once a minute, so Kauthar Visibility knows what to look at again. No content is sent in the notice.<\/li>\n
- When you open Kauthar \u2192 Dashboard<\/strong> (administrators only, connected sites only): the page shows a frame loaded from
https:\/\/kautharai.com\/embed\/wp<\/code>. Its address carries this site's Kauthar id, your WordPress user id (a number), the time, a random one-time value, your admin language and a signature made with the plugin's secret \u2014 the secret itself is not sent, and Kauthar refuses an address older than 2 minutes or used twice. The frame shows your Kauthar business's numbers, latest conversations, switches and subscription, served by kautharai.com. Replies you send there and switches you change are made in your Kauthar account. \"Open full Kauthar\" and \"Renew \/ Upgrade\" open kautharai.com in a new tab with a one-time sign-in link valid for 60 seconds; nothing is paid inside WordPress.<\/li>\n- When you press \"Disconnect\" or delete the plugin<\/strong>: the site token, so Kauthar revokes it.<\/li>\n
- Kauthar SEO (the write channel)<\/strong>: when you connect, and whenever the settings page or \"Refresh status\" is used, the plugin also sends a second secret it generated itself, the address of its own REST namespace (
\/wp-json\/kauthar-ai\/v1<\/code>), which SEO plugin is active, which kinds of changes you allowed, and a count of visits by known AI crawlers (user-agent name and count only \u2014 no IP addresses, no pages). Kauthar then signs every request it makes to your site<\/strong> with that secret; the plugin refuses unsigned, expired or replayed requests, anything you did not tick (each field of a request is checked against its own kind of change), and anything the acting Editor may not do. What is allowed by default:<\/strong> the Connect screen states it before you press Connect \u2014 every kind of change listed in \"What Kauthar can change\" below, acting as the oldest Editor of the site. Administrators can never be the acting user; if the site has no Editor, nothing is written until you create one (Users \u2192 Add New User \u2192 Role: Editor) and choose it. Writes only happen while the site is connected to a Kauthar account with the Kauthar Visibility service. To turn it off:<\/strong> Settings \u2192 Kauthar AI \u2192 Kauthar SEO \u2192 untick the kinds of changes you do not want (or tick \"Stop all Kauthar writes on this site\", or choose \"\u2014 nobody \u2014\") \u2192 Save. Settings you saved yourself are never reset by an update or a new connection.<\/li>\n- On your public pages<\/strong> (while the chat bubble is enabled): visitors' browsers load the chat script from
https:\/\/kautharai.com\/widget.js<\/code> and the chat window from kautharai.com. The service receives the usual technical data of a web request (IP address, browser, the page address) and the messages the visitor types, to answer them. The chat window may set a cookie and use browser storage on kautharai.com to keep the conversation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nKauthar AI writes replies with a cloud AI model from Google (Gemini) on Kauthar's own account; data is stored on Kauthar's servers in Frankfurt, Germany.<\/p>\n\n

The plugin does not track you or your visitors, shows no ads, and sends no analytics.<\/p>\n\n
What Kauthar can change<\/h3>\n\n
Kauthar never administers your site. Remote requests run as the Editor you chose \u2014 a user who can edit content but holds no administrative capability such as manage_options<\/code>, activate_plugins<\/code>, install_plugins<\/code>, edit_users<\/code> or edit_theme_options<\/code>; a request is refused if that user ever gains one. No route installs, activates or updates plugins or themes, manages users, changes WordPress options, or writes files on the server. Every route below needs a valid signature (a secret created by this plugin, a timestamp within 5 minutes and a single-use nonce).<\/p>\n\nAll routes are under \/wp-json\/kauthar-ai\/v1<\/code>:<\/p>\n\n\nGET \/ping<\/code> \u2014 status (plugin and WordPress versions, which kinds of change are allowed, counts). Read only.<\/li>\nGET \/items<\/code>, GET \/items\/{id}<\/code> \u2014 published posts, pages and products (and drafts Kauthar created). Read only.<\/li>\nPOST \/items\/{id}\/meta<\/code> \u2014 SEO title and description (kind: titles and meta descriptions) or canonical URL and noindex \/ nofollow (kind: canonical and robots). Needs edit_post<\/code> on that item.<\/li>\nPOST \/items\/{id}\/alt<\/code> \u2014 alt text of that item's images (kind: image alt text). Needs edit_post<\/code> on the item and on each image.<\/li>\nPOST \/items\/{id}\/schema<\/code> \u2014 the item's JSON-LD, stored in the plugin's own post meta (kind: structured data). Needs edit_post<\/code>.<\/li>\nPOST \/posts<\/code> \u2014 create a post or page (kind: create and publish posts). Needs create_posts<\/code>, plus publish_posts<\/code> to publish and upload_files<\/code> for a featured image. Optional SEO fields in the same request are each checked against their own kind (titles, robots, structured data, alt text) and skipped, with a per-field result, when that kind is off.<\/li>\nPOST \/posts\/{id}<\/code> \u2014 update a post or page: same checks, plus edit_post<\/code>.<\/li>\nDELETE \/posts\/{id}<\/code> \u2014 move to the trash, only posts Kauthar created (kind: create and publish posts). \nDo I need a Kauthar AI account?<\/h3><\/dt>\nYes. The plugin connects your site to Kauthar AI, where you set up your assistant, its knowledge and its channels. New businesses get a free trial.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Do I need WooCommerce?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. On any WordPress site the plugin adds the chat bubble. With WooCommerce, Kauthar also answers from your products and order status.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Do I have to copy API keys?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. \"Connect WooCommerce\" uses WooCommerce's standard approval screen and WooCommerce sends the keys to Kauthar directly. You can revoke them any time in WooCommerce \u2192 Settings \u2192 Advanced \u2192 REST API, or by pressing \"Disconnect\".<\/p><\/dd>\n
Will Kauthar change my store?<\/h3><\/dt>\nOnly if you ask it to. By default it reads products and order status. Orders from the chat stay off until you switch them on in Kauthar \u2192 Connect your store.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Does it slow down my site?<\/h3><\/dt>\nThe chat script loads asynchronously in the footer and its interface is drawn in an isolated Shadow DOM, so it does not block your pages or clash with your theme.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Can I show the chat only on some pages?<\/h3><\/dt>\nYes: every page, only selected pages, or every page except selected ones. On WooCommerce stores you can also hide it on the cart and checkout.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Can I add a chat link inside a page?<\/h3><\/dt>\nYes, with the shortcode [kauthar_chat_link text=\"Chat with us\"]<\/code>.<\/p><\/dd>\nWill Kauthar change my site's SEO without asking?<\/h3><\/dt>\nOnly what the \"Kauthar SEO\" card allows. Everything there is allowed by default once you connect the site \u2014 the Connect screen says so before you press it \u2014 because most owners want Kauthar to publish and fix SEO automatically. Kauthar acts as an Editor, never as an administrator. You can untick any kind of change, choose another Editor, or pause everything \u2014 and Kauthar only writes through requests signed with a secret this plugin generated. The last 50 changes are listed in the card, and each one can be undone from your Kauthar dashboard. Tick \"Stop all Kauthar writes\" to pause at any time.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Why does Kauthar need an Editor account?<\/h3><\/dt>\nSo that everything Kauthar does is limited to content: an Editor can write, publish and edit posts and pages but cannot touch plugins, themes, users or site settings. If your site has only administrators, create an Editor in Users \u2192 Add New User (a dedicated user such as \"kauthar\" makes its changes easy to spot), then choose it in Settings \u2192 Kauthar AI \u2192 Kauthar SEO. Until then Kauthar reads your public content but changes nothing.<\/p><\/dd>\n
I use Yoast \/ Rank Math \/ SEOPress \/ All in One SEO \u2014 will they clash?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. Kauthar writes titles, descriptions, canonicals and robots settings into your SEO plugin's own fields, so you keep seeing and editing every value there. Structured data Kauthar adds skips the types your SEO plugin already prints. Without an SEO plugin, Kauthar prints those tags itself on the pages it changed.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Does the write channel need the REST API?<\/h3><\/dt>\nYes. Kauthar talks to \/wp-json\/kauthar-ai\/v1<\/code>. If a security plugin blocks the REST API for visitors, allow that namespace (requests are signed; nothing on it is readable without the secret).<\/p><\/dd>\nWhat happens when I delete the plugin?<\/h3><\/dt>\nIts settings, the write log, llms.txt, the IndexNow key, the redirects table and the SEO fields stored under the plugin's own keys are deleted, the WooCommerce keys created for Kauthar are deleted, and Kauthar is asked to revoke the site token. Posts Kauthar published stay (they are your content now), values written into Yoast \/ Rank Math \/ SEOPress \/ AIOSEO stay in those plugins, and the products already synced stay in your Kauthar account until you remove the store there.<\/p><\/dd>\n\n<\/dl>\n\n\n
